Our clients love that we save them so much money.
It’s also one of my favorite things about the Medicare coach too.
Now, it doesn’t happen all the time but when it does, we get excited with our clients.
Jane was one of the first clients I worked with, and I got to save her a lot of money.
Jane planned to work until she was 68 and was trying to figure out if she needed to join Medicare since she was coverage by her employer. She also wanted to know if Medicare would be less expensive than her employer plan.
She came to one of my free online workshops and realized the approximate cost of Medicare. She thought there was a good chance Medicare could saver her some money.
Before she finalized her decision, she had us go through her employer health insurance plan and Medicare options in more detail to know for sure if her employer plan or Medicare was better for her.
Based on our research, we realized she could save $13,000 in the first year by leaving her employer plan and joining Medicare instead.
Jane was incredibly grateful we were able to help her. She is also one of our big lucky winners. We’ve had people save more than $13,000, but this is one of our higher situations.
As you think about Medicare and whether or not you should stay on your employer plan, it’s imperative to look at the numbers and understand coverage differences between your options.
I usually recommend to look closer at joining Medicare if you are paying more then $250 a month per person in premiums at your employer health insurance, and you have out-of-pocket costs of at least $2,000.
